Going Green at A Gem of a Challenge

Good Morning everyone
I hope you are well and having a good weekend. We have some sun here but it's not so warm today.

Today is the start of a new A Gem of a Challenge.
This week the wonderful Ria has chosen the theme of
Going Green

(Use a lot of the colour green or Recycle something...)

The prize for the winner will be.....
2 Individual Digi images of the winners choice from PINK GEM DESIGNS (Subject to Availability).

I must admit that I do struggle with using green on my cards, I don't know why. So I decided to pick my papers before I chose my image. When I was looking through my pile of papers for some green inspiration I was pleased to find some really old Basic Grey Papers that I had forgotten I had. That led me to my choice of image, the gorgeous Emma in Flower Jeans.  She has such beautiful flowing hair and was a joy to colour.

Items Used:
Digi stamp - Pink Gem Designs - Emma in Flower Jeans
Digi Sentiment -  Pink Gem Designs Vintage Occasion Sentiments
Papers - Basic Grey Hopscotch
Memory Box Corner Bow available @ MCH
Memory Box Cherry Blossom available @ MCH
Memory Box Pippi butterfly
Memory Box Isabella butterfly
Nellie Snellen Flower Medium flower punch
Pearls from stash

If you take a look on the A Gem of a Challenge you will see the wonderful green creations made by the rest this week's design team and see who were the winners of the last challenge

I would like to enter my card into the following fabulous challenges:
Simon Says - anything goes
Oldie but a Goodie - Make It Girly (VERY old papers)
Colour Throwdown - Spring colours (as specified on challenge blog)

Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my blog today. I really do appreciate it and love to read any comment you may wish to make
I hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend
Bye for now
hugs
Sue

  49. I too struggle with green cards. I find it really hard to color with green colors, but paper piecing or a die cut or two can fix that issue. I think it was a good idea to find the papers before you picked your image - it's something I've started to do as well when I'm working with colors or themes I'm not so comfortable with. Otherwise I often have the image ready and pick my papers afterwards. Anyways, I think your card turned out great! I like the retro/70s feel of the floral paper and I love the girl's hair!

  68. Hi Sue, I am trying to catch up with all the sweet bloggers that keep coming over to my blog even though I haven't been around a lot. You always make my day when I see a comment from you and I just wanted you to know how much it truly means to me. You are very very sweet. I also have to tell you that I love the 'green' paper that you have chosen for your card. I think it looks awesome and I am right there with you when it comes to using green. I don't know why, it just isn't one of my favorite colors. Although I do like the Cricut green. lol... Anyway, I was able to find the dies that I asked you about and I have to place an order come Monday, so you can bet that they are both going to be on my order list. lol... I bring this up as I noticed you used one of them for this card and I am telling I just love how you are able to use it as such a simple but very elegant part of your cards. Hope your weekend it going well. Have a good one. Hugs, Lisa G
