Summer Time Spent with a Special Friend

Hello my blogging buddies

I hope this finds this well, I don't know about you but I'm glad it's Friday, it's been a hectic week here.
Anyway, at least my card is relaxing!

I was given some gorgeous Faye Whittaker Decoupage sheets for a present and this is one of them. I spent absolutely ages trying to decide on a layout for this card. It's such a lovely image that I didn't want to go over the top with embellishments. I tried adding so many different things, I was surprised how much old stuff I had lurking about and was pleased to find the metal star fish ( I haven't a clue where it came from)
So,as you will see I have made a twisted easel but at the moment it is looking quite plain. I tried adding some ribbon and a bow but it just didn't look right to me.

This is one of those cards that looks much better in real life. I added some stickles glitter glue to the waves which you cannot see on my picture. Also the bottom panel has been inked and then embossed with a paper crimper.

Here's a couple of close ups to try and show you what I mean:

So, I may make some changes to this at a later date, not sure yet!

Items used:
Faye Whittaker All Our Yesterdays Decoupage

Gypsy Dancer with glitter

Good Morning my lovely blogging buddies

I hope you are all keeping well, it's a shame the sunshine didn't last for long, back to our normal summer weather here today.

I hope you don't mind but I'd like to share some more good news with you today. As some of you already know I applied to be on the Design Team of the Fab 'n' Funky Challenge. Well, I was told on Tuesday that I had been successful and I will be posting my first DT card for them next Wednesday!! I was so thrilled to be picked to be part of such a wonderful team.

Anyway, onto my card for you today. I have had this Saturated Canary image for some time but hadn't felt confident enough to colour her. I think it is the hair that I find a bit daunting. Well I must have been feeling brave yesterday and decided to give it a go. I'm just glad I have some fine nib attachments for my promarkers or I would never have managed it. I did enjoy colouring her though and now think I may be tempted to buy another one so I can practise my colouring a bit more. The only difficulty will be choosing as they are all so beautiful.

Here's my card:

The pretty first edtion papers have glitter on them but I'm not sure how well you can see that on my picture. I also added some stickles glitter to the corner die and the bells on the dress.
I have tried to take a close up for you, not sure if it's any better or not but here it is:

Pretty Bouquet and Kraft

Good morning Everyone

I hope you are all well and maybe even enjoying some sunshine where you are? Let's hope it lasts a while.

I would like to say a massive thank you for all of your kind comments on my first DT card yesterday, your lovely words of encouragement mean so much to me.

For today's card I wanted to use Kraft card as I have seen lots of fabulous cards made with it on lately. I was very lucky to find a big pad of this card on sale last year but now I am nearly half way through it I need to think about buying some more - I don't want to run out do I!
I coloured in this gorgeous lili of the valley image with colours to match my papers but then realised that I couldn't really give her brown or green flowers so they are pink and now I'm not sure if they look right or not. Never mind, it's too late now!

I honestly feel that I have made so many new friends and count myself very lucky. You have really given me a much need confidence boost.

Anyway enough of that! I have a summery card for you today and believe it or not it is actually sunny here at the moment too. My's son's cricket match has just been cancelled though because the pitch is still water logged from last weeks flooding.  I love this pretty girl in the garden with her little dog looking up at her. I have gone for colours that I would not normally use together, but I like the papers so I hope they look o.k.

Birthday Cake and Bunting!

Hello Everyone

I hope you are all well.  It finally stopped raining yesterday and we had one sunny day. It started off bright this morning but the sun has already disappeared and we are due more heavy showers.

I decided to make a more colourful card and I wanted to play with my new memory box bunting die that I bought with my birthday money. The Pink Gem challenge has a fab sketch so thought I'd have a go at that. I know that the bunting is not strictly part of the sketch so I hope my entry will still be counted.

As you can see I have used another Lili of the Valley image, can you tell I'm a big fan of them? I do love these mice, I can't help but smile when I colour them in - that's got to be a good thing!

For the balloons I cut the shapes and shaded them with my (very old) chalks. I haven't used them for ages so I was surprised I managed to find them so quickly. I'm going to keep them out now and try to use them more. The balloon strings are very thin pieces of card that have been wound around a cocktail stick to make a loose spiral.

Items Used:
Image - LOTV Cake Shop coloured with Promakers
Papers - Echo park spring time
Memory box simple bunting die
Craftworks cards sentiment
Spellbinders labels 6

I'm entering this into the following challenges

Birthday Tree

Good Morning Everyone
I wonder if it is going to stop raining!  Lots of houses nearby have been flooded and many roads have been closed so we have been very lucky here so far.
My card today is one that I made for a very special friend who isn't really into cute and girly stuff. So my good old Kanban stamp set has come to the rescue, I've used it quite a lot lately. The stamp set comes with lots of other images too, some smaller tress and flowers which I haven't used yet, might think about using them soon as they are lovely.
Anyway here is my card

I used the largest Spellbinders lacy circle nestlie to cut out the aperture from my backing paper and layered it onto the image which I stamped in  grey ink for a softer look.
I love decorating these tress with pearls and flowers.
Here a closer look at the sentiment and those gorgeous papers:

Items Used:
Image - Kanban Spring garden clear stamp set
Papers - Prima Annalee
Spellbinders Nesties Lacy Circles
Cheery Lynn Fanciful flourish ( love this so much!)
Martha Stewart punch around the page and medium butterfly
Tonic studio daisy and small butterfly punches
Pearls from stash

I'm entering this into the following challenges

Dies to Die for - anything goes with a die cut
Fussy and fancy - swirls and flourishes
Let's Ink it Up - favourite embellishment - ( definitely my Cherry Lynn fanciful flourish die)

Thanks so much for taking the time to look, I really do appreciate your feedback and the encouragment and support you give to me.
Hope you all have a fabulous day

By the river

Good morning everyone

Hope you are all well and enjoying the week-end. My son has another cricket match today, I'm not too sure if it will stay dry this time, we were very lucky with the weather yesterday.

Since I have been making lots of girly cards lately I decided to make one for a boy this time.
Yesterday's card used one of my favourite LOTV images, this one is another favourite of mine. I think it's because it reminds me of my son although he is older now his hair still looks like that!!

Good Morning Everyone

I hope you are all well and enjoying the week-end. Well, it's actually quite sunny here at the moment. I'm hoping to will stay dry for the morning at least as my son is playing in a cricket match ,they have already had most of their matches called off this season.

My card today is made using on of my favourtie Lili of the valley images. I have made this birthday card for a little girl but I think this image would be suitable for all ages and many occasions too. That's probably why I've used it so many times.

I am so lucky, I have lots of new craft goodies to play with and some vouchers to spend too!
Which brings me onto my card for today, a thank you card for my mum in law. She loves Magnolias and I was delighted to find this free digi from Beccy's Place. Beccy is so generous, there are loads of free images on there and lots of tips and tutorials too.

Catnap - my favourite stamp

Good Morning Everyone

I hope you have had an enjoyable Jubilee week-end so far. We were lucky here yesterday I think as we had a dry day and sunny afternoon.  It looks like today may be a bit of a wash out though so I'd better catch up with some housework later ( sorry to swear!)

I made this card for a good crafting friend who adores cats. So, what better reason to use my favourite stamp which is a digi-stamp from squigglefly.com. This kitten is so cute and a joy to colour.
I choose to use brighter colours as my friend prefers these shades which I must admit was right out of my comfort zone. I hope that the colours don't clash too much!!

Here's my card

The backing paper is quite old, I'm not sure if it's still available . It's so lovely and glittery but unfortunately that doesn't show up on my photograph.

Image - digi stamp called catnap from Squigglefly.com coloured with Promarkers
Spellbinders Nestabilities labels 18
backing paper - Bo Bunny

Cherry on Top - Side Stepper card

Good Morning Everyone

I hope you are all well and enjoying the week-end.  We had lovely weather here in West Sussex yesterday up until the evening but today isn't so good, never mind.

Anyway, onto my card. I wanted to make a red white and blue card but then discovered I only had a lighter shade of blue so I decided to add some pink too.
I have had this LOTV stamp for a while but this is the first time I have used it with the Birthday Recipe stamp as I had found it hard to fit onto the same card. Thats why its a side stepper card, I had to make sure I got the measurement of the card exactly right for the punch to line up all around the edge.  I have had the cherry ribbon for years, it was one of my charity shop finds, I think it works well with the image.

Here's my card, I still need to work on my photography I think.

I have tried to take a close so you can read the recipe but it's not too clear I'm afraid.

Items used:

Lilac and Blue Fairy

Good Morning Everyone

I just wanted to start by saying a massive THANK YOU to you all. I have had so much help and support since I started blogging less than a week ago and I am so grateful to each and every one of you. You have no idea what a great confidence boost this has all given me!!

Anyway, my card today is my first card that I have made to enter a blog sketch challenge so I hope it's alright. Whilst looking through the blogs that I follow I had noticed that lots of you had already made a card using this sketch so thought I'd give it a go it's from Sketch n stash challenge 88.
Also, as part of the challenge, I had to use my newest or neglected stash. Well, I enjoyed colouring my Silver Fairy from Wee stamps so much that I decided to buy another digi from the same site.(weestamps.com) This one is called Spring Bringer, she is so pretty. In fact I love all of her stamps and will probably be going back to buy some more sometime. (Luckily it's my birthday next week so may have some spare pennies to spend!!) Actually I did use some neglected stash too because I had forgotten that I had the pretty Wild Rose Studio papers that I used.

Here is my card

It's not a great photo I'm afraid, I tried to take a close up of the image but the colours went a bit blue

I think I need to have a play about with my camera and figure out how to take some decent pictures!!

Items Used:
Image - Wee stamps digi Spring Bringer coloured with Promakers
Papers - Wildrose Studio
Flowers - Nellie Snellen punches
Butterflies - woodware punches
Sentiment - craftwork cards

Anyway, that's all for now, I hope you all have a good day. I'm so glad it's Friday and half-term for my children next week - yippee!! I love to have them at home with me, let's hope for some good weather!!

Bye for now
